We are privileged to have a wonderful team of committed volunteers to work with our therapeutic riding program. Volunteers are the backbone of our Center. Most of our riders cannot ride without the physical and emotional support of their volunteers. Up to three volunteers are needed for each rider to ride safely. Without our volunteers New Heights Therapy Center could not operate effectively. The expense of two to three additional staff per rider would put the cost of this therapy out of reach for most of our riders.
Our goal is to provide a consistent volunteer team for each rider so that both the riders and volunteers can benefit from the continuity and establish a lasting relationship of trust. A professional, safety-conscious environment for our riders, volunteers and horses is also of major importance. Volunteers play a key role in achieving these goals.
If you are considering volunteering with New Heights, call (985) 796-3677 or use the form on the Contact Us page of this website. As a volunteer on our therapeutic riding team, we believe you will find the same fulfillment in working with the riders and horses that our current volunteers find so rewarding.
