Our special event fund raisers provide over 50% of the funds to operate our service program.  New Heights Special Events include The Garden Party, and New Heights Golf Classic.

The Garden Party began in 2003.  With just 53 days of planning the Garden Party Committee produced an event which raised $37,000 for New Heights' therapeutic riding program.  Hosts David Fennelly and Carlos Sanchez welcomed over 250 guests who enjoyed food from great area restaurants, local musicians and artists, a demonstration of therapeutic riding and a silent auction. 

In 2004, the event was again a success, raising $40,000 and entertaining over 250 guests.  Hurricane Katrina interrupted the plans for the 2005 event, but the committee came back strong in 2006.  With over 300 guests attending, the event raised $75,000.  Each year we have increased our participation from local restaurants and artists.  In 2008 over 350 guests attended the event and we raised over $80,000. 

Our first New Heights Golf Classic and Wild Game and Seafood Feast in 2006 was planned to help make up some of the loss from the cancellation of 2005's Garden Party.  Held at Money Hill in June, Our third annual Golf Classic will be held on June 4 of this year at Money Hill, Abita Springs.

Another annual event for us is our Riders Horse Show.  The show is open to the public.  Riders demonstrate activities used in the riding sessions while parents share their perspective on how therapeutic riding offers hope and encouragement to the rider and their family.  Our 2008 show is set for April 19th.
