Ways to Volunteer »

Our service program and our special events are dependent on volunteers.  Everyone is an important part of accomplishing our mission.

In Riding Lessons:

The instructor is assisted throughout the lesson by as many as three volunteers for each rider.  These volunteers are trained to assist in the lesson and commit to weekly or bi-weekly scheduled times.  Volunteers for lessons are generally 13 years and older.  Riding lesson volunteers:

  • Lead the horse, keeping it under control and following the directions of the instructor
  • Walk beside the rider giving emotional and sometimes physical support
  • Help groom and tack the horse
  • Prepare the arena for the lesson

Working in the Barn:

  • Groups or individuals may help periodically cleaning stalls or tack
  • Individuals with horse experience may help with
    • Grooming the horse
    • Feeding horses
    • Teaching barn duties to campers in summer camp

Special Events:

Office Tasks:
